In July 2013, we unveiled a comprehensive, five-year Campus Master Plan designed to both identify needed facilities upgrades and create a state-of-the-art medical and health sciences campus for the future. As part of that plan, extensive renovations will soon begin on our Administration Building, which served as the original home for Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Before the renovations got underway, we invited some of those affiliated with Children’s Mercy Hospital to tour the building and tell us more about its history. It was fascinating to learn more about our Administration Building's past, such as when Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig stopped by to visit hospitalized children, and to share with them our plans for its future. Read more about it in the Kansas City Business Journal.
