New Students Volunteer During WE CARE Day of Community Service

In keeping with our mission to improve the well-being of the communities we serve, both our incoming classes from the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) and College of Biosciences (COB) participated in KCU's annual WE CARE Day of community service.

COM students participated in a variety of projects, including sorting donations and food at City Union Mission, working in the KCU community garden with students from Della Lamb Charter School, and assisting with neighborhood beautification projects for the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. COB students spent their day of community service sorting and repackaging food for Harvester's and providing a variety of assistance at Hope Faith Ministries, including serving breakfast, sorting donations, organizing the clothes closet and providing general cleaning. Be sure to check out our terrific first-year students in action in our photo gallery.
