KCU's centennial culminated in a festive fundraising gala Oct. 22 at Kansas City's Union Station. Sponsored by numerous alumni and other University supporters, the grand event drew more than 1,100 people who gathered to celebrate our 100-year history of educating osteopathic physicians and scientists, advancing research and providing service to our communities.
The gala served as a backdrop for the announcement of a $1 million challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, which will fund the University's planned state-of-the-art Center for Medical and Surgical Simulation. The new simulation center will provide advanced hands-on training to improve patient safety, create opportunities for collaboration with peer institutions in Kansas City to expand training, and improve patient outcomes in our community.
